endless strikes in France
The French railway strike is going on, upsetting visitors and French people alike. Not that all trains stop, but so many are not going! That shouldn't stop you from visiting Paris, but your planning might have to be revised. Unless you chose to go barging for 3 to 7 days! Then you won't even be aware of strikes. The hotel barges have their own comfortable minibus to take you around and the cruise includes private pick-up. With exceptional discount on this year, it's the right moment to fall for a luxury dream vacation.
We booked several Paris day and night tours and a Somme Valley Tour with France at Your Fingertips for a holiday we were taking end September 2017.
We would like to thank you for the time you spent putting together my requests, we had the most wonderful time and just loved Paris, our only regret was that we should have had a few more days, so much to see, maybe a second visit to the city if we are ever in the region again.
We booked with you Dinner and Show Moulin Rouge: unbelievable, beautiful food great show. Premium Day Trip by minivan Paris sightseeing, Eiffel Tower Lunch, Versailles tour: fantastic day , shared van with one other couple, amazed by Notre Dame Cathedral and Versailles Palace and all the wonderful other sights. Dinner Cruise on Seine River was very relaxing and lovely meal and sights. Paris by night is wonderful!
The Day in the Somme was a very moving day, we shared the tour with another couple from New South Wales and had a wonderful guide, he was so knowledgeable and a highlight was that the other couple had forwarded to the tour company the very little information they had regarding a great uncle of theirs that had died at Somme, the Company done some research and were able to take them to his final resting place at the Beacon Cemetery which was very emotional for them and we felt very privileged to have shared that time with them. My Grandfather fought in the Somme but he survived, returned home and lived a long life. I feel very lucky that I have been able to visit the area, the first in my family to do so. It was a 10 hour day but very enjoyable, we visited some amazing sites and learned a lot of history. We were dropped off back at the Hotel which was greatly appreciated.
Thank you again for the work you done for us, loved the small almost private tours, they were always on time to pick us up and often done a few interesting detours to show us something extra and dropped us off at our hotel door. Lyn and Allen - Australia
